You’ve been thinking about this for years.
- Executives
- Business owners
- Professionals
- First responders
- Healthcare workers
- People in the trades
- Anyone else
This isn’t for people in crisis. It’s for executives, business owners, professionals, first responders, healthcare workers, people in the trades and people who’ve stepped away from work. If you’re privately considering retiring from alcohol, it’s for you. Alcohol doesn’t care who you are or what you do for a living. No rock bottom required. No program. No label. Just a decision made on your terms.
Licensed professionals.
If you’re a physician, nurse, dentist, pharmacist, veterinarian, pilot, attorney or anyone with a license on the line, coaching with me is private. I never share what you tell me with your employer or a licensing board. Coaching isn’t billed to insurance, so there’s no diagnosis or medical record. See exactly what’s stored.
See if this sounds familiar.
From the outside looking in, everything works. But alcohol has become a quiet concern you don’t talk about.
I coach men and women.
Strike the ones that sound like you. What you strike stays on this device.
Who this isn’t for.
Coaching isn’t medical care or therapy.
If you’ve already stopped drinking, you don’t need this coaching.
If you want a quick trick and aren’t ready to put in real work, this won’t hold.
If you’re not ready to be straight with yourself about what drinking is costing you, come back when you are. No judgment either way.
Prepared Sobriety is for people who are functioning, self-aware, and ready to make a decision.
And if you’re not here for yourself but for someone you love, there’s a page for that: what to do when you’re concerned about someone’s drinking.
And there’s no single timeline. My six years was my story, not a standard to meet. Some of the people I work with are weeks from a date they’ve quietly already chosen. Some are months out. Others are a year or two away and still making sense of it. Wherever you are on that map is where we start.
Is this actually for you?
This is probably for you if:
- Your drinking still works most days, which is exactly why it’s hard to walk away
- You’re ready to look at identity, not just behavior
- You want this private
This is probably not for you if:
- You want a group program or a 12-step model
- You’re doing this because someone else wants you toIf someone who cares about you sent you here, there’s a page for them too.
Still just curious? Find your stage, or start with the blog. There’s no rush.
Why does “sober coach” usually mean something clinical?
Search for it and you’ll find sober companions, addiction recovery coaches, and relapse-prevention specialists, most of them built around a treatment plan created by a clinician. That’s real, necessary work for people in active recovery. It’s just not what most people thinking about their drinking actually need. You’re not managing a diagnosis. You’re making a decision.
What’s the difference between this and a sober companion?
A sober companion typically works within a structured treatment plan, often after residential treatment, helping someone navigate early recovery day to day. This is a private, 1:1 coaching relationship built around a five-stage framework, Visualization, Identity Drift, Compounding Friction, Decision Point, Retirement, for someone who’s never been through treatment and doesn’t need to be. There’s no clinical intake, no treatment plan, no diagnosis. Just a conversation with someone who’s walked the exact path you’re on.
After I retired from alcohol on April 16, 2025, people started asking me how I did it. In the ski lodge, instead of the bar. At the gym. At work functions. Prepared Sobriety didn’t exist yet. The people asking came from all different walks of life.
What makes this coaching different?
I’m not a counselor and I’m not running a treatment program. I drank regularly for 30 years. I started preparing in 2019 and retired from alcohol on April 16, 2025. Four months later my LDL was down 33%. I lost 14 lbs in those four months without changing my diet. Within ten months I was off two medications. When we talk, you’re talking to me, not an intake coordinator.

Where you might be standing
Executives. Discretion first. Private calls, a neutral calendar invite and a plain statement of exactly what’s stored. Paced around board meetings and travel, not a fixed program calendar.
Shift work and the field. Nights, rotations, two weeks on and two off. Job sites, patrol, the fire station, the hospital, the kitchen and the bar. The drinking happens on the days off or after close, and nobody at work ever sees it.
No longer working, or between chapters. If work used to give your day its shape and now it doesn’t, the evening drink can move earlier without anyone noticing. We work on that the same way, at your pace.
Client-facing roles. Built around the specific culture of client dinners, vendor happy hours, and the identity of being “always on” in the room, without confusing that with what actually makes the top producers good at their jobs. How client dinners, golf and travel work.
Founders. Coaching that accounts for the fact your identity and your company are fused, and that alcohol is often woven into the founder story itself.
Athletes. Framed around performance. The same thinking elite athletes already use when they cut something small to squeeze out the last bit of edge on recovery, sleep, or reaction time.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to identify as an alcoholic to work with you?
No. Most people I work with never would, and many aren’t. This isn’t built around labels or a 12-step framework. It’s built around a decision.
What if I’ve never told anyone I’m even thinking about this?
That’s the most common starting point. Most people I talk to haven’t told a spouse, a friend, or anyone else. The first call is just a private, no-pressure conversation about where you are.
